- Question 1
- (a)(i) — Rectangle ABCD
Draw AB = 35 mm. At B, construct a perpendicular line. With A as centre and radius 70 mm, cut the perpendicular at C. Join AC and complete rectangle ABCD. - (a)(ii) — Square Equal in Area to Rectangle
Draw diagonal AC of the rectangle. Bisect AC at E. With E as centre and radius EA, draw semicircle cutting produced side at F. Draw square on AF equal in area to the rectangle. - (b) — Right End Elevation
Draw the given front elevation and plan accurately. Project all corners to the right side. Transfer depths using 45° mitre line. Complete the right end elevation with visible outlines only.

WAEC 2026 Technical Drawing — Question 1 Answer Diagram - (a)(i) — Rectangle ABCD
- Question 2
- (a) — Ellipse Construction
Draw major axis 130 mm and minor axis 50 mm intersecting at centre O. Construct the rectangle around the axes. Divide half major and half minor axes into equal parts. Draw vertical and horizontal projectors. Join corresponding intersections smoothly to obtain the ellipse. - (b) — Common Internal Tangent
Draw two circles radius 40 mm and 20 mm with centres 100 mm apart. Draw auxiliary circle radius 60 mm about larger circle centre. Join centres. Construct tangent from smaller circle centre to auxiliary circle. Draw parallel tangent touching both circles internally.
